This is the first book I’ve read on meditation and so glad I found it

Was first introduced to meditation while in the hospital awaiting surgery and have been a student ever since (for the past 30 years). All of my learning has been in groups or through recordings (and lots of them – I think I’m the only one who still owns a cassette player; and just for this purpose). This is the first book I’ve read on meditation and so glad I found it. Picked up some great new perspectives that I’ve already started using. I’ve since used meditation for relaxation, but mostly for sports performance (and still at it at age 53). It’s a critical skill for anyone to master and I highly recommend this book for anyone; not only beginners. Will periodically refer back to this very thoughtful presentation on one of my favorite topics.

I downloaded this book because I’ve recently been intrigued with meditating. I have two young children and have been feeling so stressed lately. I figured this book would at least get me started with some ideas and concepts of how meditating works. It’s an easy read, something you can start and finish in one day. The language is down to earth and easy to understand. It gives easy instructions without getting into a lot of details. I’d like to research transcendental meditation a little bit more thoroughly, as it seems pretty intriguing. I think the mindfulness meditation is something I could easily do on a daily basis. Thanks for this book!
