Summary, Analysis & Review of Sadhguru’s Inner Engineering by Instaread

Inner Engineering by yogi and mystic Sadhguru is a nonfiction book that explores the path to spiritual enlightenment, a state in which joy is constant. Human consciousness is like a machine. When people learn how to master their own minds and bodies as they do machines, they will have the ability to experience profound and sustained joy. Therefore, a person’s path to lasting joy begins with mastering their inner experience. To harness the intelligence of their own life force, people should tap into the wisdom of yoga and its time-tested principles. Yoga is a reliable method people can use to get in touch with their own transcendent and divine natures.

Sadhguru’s spiritual wisdom is based on his personal experience. He began practicing yoga when he was 12 years old and living in Mysore, India. From that point on, he began noticing significant changes in the way that he experienced life…

Interesting take on gaining a new and positive perspective

 on December 16, 2016

Working full-time and raising 3 kids under the age of 13 means that I don’t have a lot of free time to read. This is the second Instaread title that I’ve read and I was again impressed with how well it pared down to just the meat and potatoes of the crux of the full novel.

Quick, Informative Summary

This summary of “Inner Engineering” is an informative, quick read. “Inner Engineering” teaches individuals how to use their minds and bodies like machines in order to experience joy. The summary gives a brief one and a half page overview of what the original book is about and then lists and analyzes nine key takeaways that highlight the main points. I find these self help books to be interesting, and since there are so many of them, it’s nice that I can quickly read this summary and get a good idea on what the book is about.

Who knew Yoga had so much in common with Christianity?

 on December 2, 2016
By bookluva
First, I would say that I have never been a huge fan of Yoga or the like. I am just so ADD that the thought of sitting still for so long and just getting in the zone sounds like death to me. That being said, my spouse loves Yoga! So, I cannot be too opposed to it right? Well, I was delighted that this summary shed new light on the Yoga topic for me. I never really understood that Yoga’s definition of enlightenment is a state of constant joy. I believe this to be quite similar to the goal of Christianity. Another thing I learned in reading this summary is that the path to enlightenment is self-mastery. Again, this is not so different from Christianity. The path to heaven is to master thyself and sin no more. One of the main methods to accomplish this self-mastery is meditation. Yet again, Christianity espouses a form of meditation to aid in this self-mastery: prayer. So in the end, I really enjoyed this summary and was fascinated to learn more about a philosophy of life with which I share so much in common!
