This is indeed a helpful handbook for venturing into meditation. Like most of the Shining Universe books, it’s designed to enlighten and instruct. And like most of their books, it’s written in a way that is easy to follow.
The layout is user friendly and gives concise step by step instructions. Whether your a beginner or seeking different methods to learn. I enjoyed reading about the different methods to apply… Learning the background on any subject matter helps one to understand and get in tune….Good sense of humor is always appreciated! 🙂 Buddha and Western Cultures: Native Americans have used several ancient methods well adopted into daily practices today! Wonderfully written.

This book got me hooked by page one. I could not put it down. I have done some meditation before, but this book taught me some meditations techniques that i have never tried and fell in love with.
Excellent for beginners and advanced
I do a lot of meditating and it was cool to see that some of the techniques I use have a name for them. I also found one or two other ways that I had not previously tried that appeal to me. The reasons given to meditate are great reminders to not just read the book but to actually practice what you learn and incorporate into your life in a simple way.
Great starter book
This book is a good overview of meditation. I believe it is a great starting point for anyone interested in exploring the art of meditation. The author may have had limited English-language skills which made some parts difficult to read.
Such a wonderful book for a beginner like me. It explains some of the different types of meditation, then gives the benefits. Straight and to the point and I am excited to start tonight before bed. Thank you for this gem!

The best way to meditate is focus on the space between your thoughts or as a pianist once stated; “Anybody can play the notes; the Art is in the silence between the notes. Had this book stated the distinctions between contemplation, meditation and deliberation it would deserve a higher rating. Contemplate, then meditate, then deliberate; that is how to solve your problems.
This book is a good first read to get a basic understanding of meditation and the benefits of it. Recommend to anyone who needs a light and easy.
